When watching the Ignite demo back in 2019 for the first time, I truly believed this was going to be the digital revolution for knowledge workers like (Ford’s) moving assembly line was for cars.

I saw the Fluid Framework boosting the productivity of knowledge workers by letting them use whatever digital tool is at their disposal as long as it understands Fluid-weblinks (like OLE-over-the-web indeed). Whether a user enters its data in a dynamic table in Teams, in their precious Word or even consume the resulting pie charts in Outlook email (lively updated!) – the users’ tool did not matter anymore.

It’s March 2022 and only for a few months I have been using the now Microsoft Loop / Live Components for Teams. Frankly, I find it a bit underwhelming considering the 2-3 years in the works. Nonetheless, I remain positive that Fluid/Loop has the potential to be the digital revolution for productivity, because it actually has the power to empower the users’ habits.

Thank you, Tony. I admire your work.

You can pin messages in both chats and channel conversations. The implementation is different in the two scenarios. See https://office365itpros.com/2021/08/23/how-to-pin-messages-in-teams-chats-and-channel-conversations/

It means my loop component has now scrolled off the page which is a bit annoying.
